Transaxis Maritime

The marine company of Axis Group, registered in Nigeria as Trans-Axis Maritime Ltd. Its work is the ship and the quay: a port call arranged properly, cargo that matches the documents, and a clear line to Transaxis Energy when the cargo is fuel.

The work

Four jobs around one vessel call.

A maritime company in this group is not a brochure of oceans. It is the party that can be named when a ship, a cargo and a terminal have to agree.

01

Agency

Husbandry of the call: the port, the agent on the ground, the notices, and the people who meet the ship.

02

Cargo

Dry bulk and liquid bulk, including petroleum products that sit with the energy company. The figure on the bill and the figure ashore are the same figure.

03

Charter

Support on fixture, laytime and the questions that decide whether a delay is paid for. The commercial record is written as the call proceeds, not reconstructed later.

04

Documents

Bills of lading, mate’s receipts, statements of facts, and the terminal’s own forms. A cargo that cannot be documented is not a cargo the group will move.

A call, in order

From instruction to the last hose.

01

Instruction

Port, cargo, quantity, laycan, and who is paying. If the cargo is product from Transaxis Energy, the energy desk is on the same instruction.

02

The ship

Name, flag, dimensions, and whether the berth can take her. A ship that does not fit the terminal is declined before anyone sails her in hope.

03

Notices

Arrival notices go out on the times the charter and the terminal require. Copies are kept.

04

Alongside

The agent, the surveyor where the cargo needs one, and the terminal work to one sequence. Safety of the call outranks a faster hose.

05

Figures

Shore figures, ship figures, and any difference are written down before the ship sails. Petroleum cargo is reconciled with the energy company’s stock record.

06

Close

Statement of facts, disbursement, and the documents the receiver needs. The file can be opened a year later and still explain the call.

With the rest of the group

Sea for the cargo. Road for the delivery.

Transaxis Energy already moves PMS and AGO by road, on thirteen of its own tankers, and sells through stations and bulk accounts. Transaxis Maritime is how that same product, or another cargo, is handled when the movement is by water.

Petroleum cargo

Liquid product coordinated with Transaxis Energy’s supply book, so a marine lifting and a later road delivery are one chain rather than two stories.

Other cargo

Dry and general cargo for group companies and for outside clients, on the same standard of documents and port conduct.

The investment behind it

Capital for the marine business is a Transaxis Investment question. The port call itself stays with the maritime desk.

Write to the marine desk

Name the port, the cargo and the dates.

Put “Transaxis Maritime” in the subject. Include the port, what is moving, the quantity, and the laycan if you have it. The note is received at the group office in Wuse II.
